Count the kisses and win!!

During the final quarter of 2009 the exterior of Northgate Island was covered in 1700 kisses, and the public was invited to guess the actual number and explain why they felt passionate about Cape Town in order to win amazing prizes.

Former Miss South Africa Jo-Ann Strauss planted the final kiss.

– That is the number of kisses adorning the exterior of Northgate Island, the up-market lifestyle centre located off Cape Town’s N1 Highway. The centre has been covered in bright pink kisses for the past month as part of a competition in which the public were invited to guess the number of kisses on the building and explain why they felt passionate about Cape Town.

The “Count the Kisses” prize winner, Lee Griffin, who correctly guessed the number of kisses, won an all expenses paid trip to Zanzibar. She said her reason for loving Cape Town was the fact that the city has such a positive vibe. “It is the most culturally diverse, beautiful and soul-filled city in the world.”

Other prizes included a weekend for two at a luxury villa in Camps Bay and return flights for two to anywhere in South Africa. As expected most people’s reasons for loving the city centre on the fabulous sandy beaches and the friendliness of the people.
